Pastoral Council Nomination Form

Qualification:  Persons called to the important work of furthering the faith growth and Mission of the parish community should be open to the following:

• Awareness to their personal call to the faith.
• Willingness to participate in an orientation process to the parish pastoral council.
• A commitment to help carry out the Mission statement of our parish.
• A willingness to acquaint themselves with the role of the laity as outlined in the Documents of the Church.
• A willingness to collaborate with the pastor, who is the leader of the parish community, and with the pastoral team, the members of the council, and parish committees.
• A willingness to serve the common good of the whole parish community rather than advocating a special interest or specific committee.
• A recognition of the relationship of the parish to diocesan and universal Church and the need for ongoing communication between the parish and the larger Church.

Note:  The above qualifications set a vision for how council members can grow in providing leadership for the parish.  All nominees (whether nominated by someone else or self-nominated) must be at least 18 years of age, active members of Holy Spirit Parish, and willing to serve for a three-year term.
