The Sacrament of Confirmation
This is a program designed to prepare your child(ren) to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We are finally transitioning into a one-year program. Hence, we will only be accepting students who will be in 8th grade in 2024-2025 academic year.
If your child postponed their Confirmation Preparation for any reason but is seeking information about how to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please get in touch with Nick via email: [email protected]. -

Confirmation Interviews
Candidates who will be confirmed in 2025 must sign up for their Confirmation Interview with Nick. At least one parent should attend with their child. Please be sure that your child has chosen their Confirmation Sponsor and Confirmation Saint. Please bring your completed Confirmation Retreat Paperwork to your interview if possible.

2025 Confirmation Retreat
The Confirmation Retreat is an annual overnight retreat at Gasper River Catholic Retreat Center in Bowling Green. This retreat occurs in August for those being confirmed later that month. The Confirmation Retreat Team is a group of high school and college-aged young people who are selected to plan and lead the retreat. The Retreat Team meets throughout the summer to learn, prepare, plan, and grow in faith prior to the retreat.

Celebration of Confirmation
Confirmation Mass will be celebrated on August 30th, 2024 (Saturday) at 4:30 Mass at Holy Spirit with the Bishop presiding at that Mass. Typically there is a small reception following the Mass at which sponsors and family, and the candidates can gather, celebrate, enjoy a small snack, and collect the Confirmation Certificate and gift from the parish. Food and service for this reception is typically provided by families in their first year of preparation, as the favor will be returned for their family in the following year.
