Liturgy Core Group

The Liturgy Core Group consists of twelve to fifteen people representing various Liturgical ministries, in addition to interested parishioners, the pastor, pastoral associate and director of music and liturgy. The group meets monthly to set goals, direction and standards for the overall liturgical life of the parish. Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Members of the parish are commissioned by the pastor to assist in ministering the Eucharist at Liturgy. Trainings are held several times each year. Commitment is based on a rotational schedule. Contact the Coordinator, Mary Ellen Krohn, 782-8170.

Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers/Greeters)

Ushers assist in seating the assembled community, facilitate the offertory collection and assist in post-liturgy preparation for the next Mass. Greeters welcome all that enter our worship space for Liturgy and other parish celebrations. Training provided for women, men, youth, adults, family teams. All are welcome! Liturgical Art and Environment Ministry

The Art and Environment Ministry is committed to the environment of the worship space for all Liturgical seasons and celebrations, through quality and appropriate décor. Commitment is flexible, with a concentration during major Liturgical seasons: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost. Contact Tim Minor, 270-542-7646.

Eucharistic Bread Baking Ministry

Prayers of the Faithful

Liturgical Movement and Drama

To encourage a more active participation in the Liturgy, all are invited to become part of the ministry of Liturgical Movement and Drama. Lectors of the Holy Word

Men, women, youth and adults who proclaim the Word of God to the community present at the Eucharist and other Liturgical Celebrations. Lector training and development held throughout the year. Contact the Lector Coordinator: Barbara DeFebbo, 781-5915.

Sacristan Ministry

Tender, loving hands prepare, clean and maintain vestments, vessels, altar linens, candleholders, and sacred items used in Liturgy. Contact: Barbara Parker, 782-5791.

Altar Servers

Girls and boys, women and men, (4th grade and older) are invited to serve the altar during Mass. Training is provided. Commitment is based on a rotational schedule. Contact Altar Server Coordinators: Billy or Cindy Mills, 783-0539.

Music and Instrumental Ministry

Holy Spirit’s Music Ministry offers many ways to participate in Liturgy through song and praise. Musicians are needed for Liturgical Celebrations and other special events such as prayer services, Vacation Bible School, ECHO events, and other celebrations. In addition to the Cantor Ministry, a variety of choirs and ensembles are available for all ages. "Women of Spirit"

This SSA women’s choral ensemble performs a diverse and challenging repertoire that spans from great choral literature of the past to modern arrangements of contemporary Christian music. Women of all ages are welcome! The Women’s Choir meets on Wednesdays at 6:00pm and sings on the second Sunday of every month, in addition to other Holy Days throughout the Liturgical Year. "Joyful Noise Singers"

The Children’s Choir, 2nd through 6th grades, focuses on developing vocal techniques and ear training, with an emphasis on pitch, diction and the postures of Mass. "Fire by Night"

Youth are invited to share their gifts of music through Holy Spirit’s Teen Choir, “Fire by Night”. All youth, 7th grade through College, are welcome! Specific rehearsal dates are announced through the parish bulletin and personal e-mail. Teens sing at Mass on the fourth Sunday of every month. Holy Spirit Festival Choir

The Festival Choir welcomes all vocalists, youth and adult. The choir prepares for parish Liturgical celebrations on a limited basis: Christ the King, Easter, Pentecost, and other designated Liturgies throughout the Liturgical year. Cantor Ministry

Cantors work with the accompanist to lead the assembly in sung prayer, and proclaim the Word of God through the Responsorial Psalm. Cantors are needed for all weekend and Holy Day Liturgies. A willingness to grow in faith and an understanding of the importance of prayerful presence to the assembly is foundational. Parish cantors meet to consider their ministry and build musical skills.
