Senior High School Youth Ministry Group

High School Youth meets weekly on Sunday nights in the youth room from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The group finds new ways to connect to Christ through prayer, scripture, fun and fellowship. Youth Ministry Leadership Team

A Youth leadership team made up of several Holy Spirit Youth from each high school class. They plan, organize and present events for the high school youth group and Junior High Ministry Group. Junior High Youth Ministry Group

Junior High Ministry activities are held for all junior high youth in the parish throughout the year. Socials, services activities, retreats, etc. are planned and coordinated by Junior High Ministry Team, composed of parents and youth from the catechetical program and St. Joseph School. Junior High Adult Coordinating Team

Youth Bible Study

National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)

The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes general sessions and workshops addressing a wide variety of topics as well as opportunities for reconciliation, daily liturgy, and special activities such as concerts, a dance, and comedy club.  Contact Matthew Keyser, Youth Minister, 842-7777, for more information.

Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC)

The mission of the Catholic Heart Work Camp is to share the love of Jesus and serve the neglected,   brokenhearted and marginalized in any way needed. Contact Matthew Keyser, Youth Minister, 842-7777, for more information.

HSCC Youth Service Group

A group of concerned youth and parishioners that periodically take on local service projects for parishioners and the local community. Contact Matthew Keyser, Youth Minister, 842-7777, ext 106.


Gasper River Summer Camp Weeks

Various summer camps are available for youth entering 3rd grade and up.  All activities will be led by Gasper River Staff, who are trained in all adventure activities, life guarding, first aid, and CPR.  Each week of camp combines learning about the Catholic faith and experiencing thrilling adventures.  Prayerful experiences, such as Stations of the Cross and the Rosary Walk, will add new meaning to each camper's week as they celebrate the Sacraments in God’s creation.  This combination of faith, fun, and friends will lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the camper’s life-long adventure God. Contact Matthew Keyser, Youth Minister, 842-7777, for more information.

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC)

Christian Leadership Institute (CLI)

CLI (Christian Leadership Institute) is a week long leadership training experience for those who have completed at least their freshman year of high school through just graduated seniors.    It has been a very life changing experience for many who have attended in the past, to discover the many gifts that God has given them and encourage them to use those gifts in their parishes, schools and communities. Confirmation Team / Sponsors

Parishioners are invited to share their faith with the youth of the parish seeking to complete their initiation as Catholics. A ministry team meeting monthly, plans the parish preparation according to diocesan guidelines. Each youth chooses a sponsor representing the parish community of faith who will be a friend/mentor to the candidate and share their experience of being Catholic. Confirmation

Parents, sponsors, catechists and the parish community support the parish youth preparing for confirmation. Youth who are in the eighth grade or older, active in the parish, attending mass and the catechetical program, or attending St. Joseph School, are invited to complete their initiation and prepare for the sacrament of confirmation. Preparation includes an interview, parish celebrations and rites, two retreats, confirmation course, service and activities with a sponsor. Preparation begins in Grade 7.
