ECHO – ADULT FAITH & MINISTRIES

Catechetical Leadership Committee

Holy Spirit parish provides catechetical programs for parishioners of all ages and stages of life—children, youth, and adults. These programs provide participants with the opportunity to grow spiritually, deepen their faith, and strengthen their relationship with God. Representatives from all parish catechetical programs and age groups in the parish meet eight times a year to identify needs, set goals and coordinate the lifelong catechesis in the parish. Contact Ginny French, chair, at 796-8788, Lori Lewis, Pastoral Associate or Carol Kunkel, Director of Faith Formation, 842-7777.

ECHO Steering Committee

Whole Community Catechesis is a team approach to providing life long catechesis for all ages, focusing on the relationship between liturgy and catechesis as well as households, school, parish life and community outreach. Small faith sharing groups and intergenerational catechesis assemblies are an important dimension of Whole Community Catechesis.  If you would like more information on our whole community catechesis – ECHO – please contact Gerry Otto, Steering Committee Chair, 843-1073, or Lori Lewis, Pastoral Associate, 842-7777.

Scripture / Faith Sharing / Book Discussion Groups

Christian Initiation of Adults / Children

This is the process used by the Church to welcome and catechize those who wish to learn more about the Catholic way of life and those who seek to become Catholic. Inquiry sessions are held every Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Questions of life, faith, and Catholic prayer and practice are discussed and shared with the members of the parish and pastoral team. Contact Lori Lewis, Pastoral Associate, 842-7777; Barbara DeFebbo, 781-5915; Nancy Pattison, 542-2253.

Special inquiry sessions for uncatechized children and youth and their parents are held as needed. Families are invited to join peers in parish activities/programs. Catechists and sponsors guide the process of initiation and rites; celebrations are coordinated with the rites for adults preparing for initiation and youth preparing for confirmation or Eucharist. Contact Lori Lewis, Pastoral Associate, 842-7777.
