Our parish logo was unveiled on Pentecost Sunday, our parish feast day. Over seventy logos were submitted for consideration by many people in our very talented and active community. Following are Fr. Jerry Riney's thoughts and comments about the logo that was finally chosen and what it represents. The article first appeared in the Breath of the Spirit newsletter.

What does the logo mean to me? It speaks of the multi-dimensional role of the Spirit in our personal and parish life. At first viewing, I saw FIRE—that courageous, prophetic dimension of the Spirit, which bids us to stand up for what is right despite the cost. Yet the person standing next to me saw the DOVE—that calm, peaceful dimension of the Spirit for which we long in the deep recesses of our being, and especially in times of sickness, death or other turmoil in our lives.

Our logo does not emphasize one or the other but embraces both the Fire and the Dove in a clever and creative representation, which hovers over People Standing Together as one, forming a community of believers. It is the Spirit who joins us together. It is the Spirit who challenges us! It is the Spirit who glories in the Truth! It is the love of the Father and Son who gave birth to the Spirit of God.
