We Got Stones!

Michael Murphy has old Bowling Green curb stones that he is making available for us to use. The stones weigh over 250 pounds each and measure about 6 inches thick, by 18' tall and several feet long.  This wonderful resource could be used in our landscaping plans, Entry Courtyard, Piazza, Mary's Garden etc.  See the pictures.

We are looking for ideas in how to best use these beautiful natural lime stones. Please forward your ideas by informing any of the PPSC or TORCH members or in writing by dropping them off at the Church Office.  Thank you for helping make Parkside as beautiful as possible.

Elrod / Natcher Parkway Interchange Study

We scanned the aerial views from the “Survey Questionnaire” that was available at the second public informational meeting held at the WKU Ag Expo Center on May 29, 2008.  Please note the A2, B2, C1 options. These are the ”Elrod extensions” to the Three Springs Road that we are most interested in.  Should one of these options be recommended this coming August someday we may have an opportunity to have another entrance to Parkside.  Our Site Layout Plan takes full advantage of these options as well as the others shown should they occur.

You can still help by writing to the District Engineer saying you from Holy Spirit Catholic Church and that you are most concerned about the Safety of Smallhouse road.  The two Smallhouse road substandard curves need to be realigned preferably within their right-a-way as soon as possible until options A2, B2 or C1 can be funded.

Parkside Barns and Fencing

The large Horse Barn , Hay Barn, and All Cross Fencing must be removed from the Parkside property prior to the start of site grading in September.

The Barns are available at no cost to anyone who will remove them.  The barns must be removed between July 1st and August 29th.  Proof of liability insurance will be required.  We would like to remove the interior cross fencing with volunteer labor during this same time frame. Some of the fencing materials will be reused but a significant portion will be available for sale to anyone who is interested.  Parishioners will be given first consideration for both the barns and fencing materials.  If you are interested in the barns, fencing materials, or will be available to help deconstruct the fences please call Charlie Gries 782-0727
